TOLWIN
Tolfenpyrad is a unique with its novel chemistry and belongs to pyrazole group Inhibits cellular respiration in mitochondria Globally, Tolfenpyrad has been developed to control wide range of insect pests viz. Hoppers, Aphids, Diamond Back Moth, Tobacco Caterpillar (Spodoptera), Bugs, Scale insects, Psylla, Thrips, Borers, Leaf miners, Mites, etc. and some fungal diseases on Vegetables, Fruits, Field crops In India, it has been approved for usage on DBM & Sucking pests like Thrips, Jassid, Aphids, Whitefly (early instar), etc
Mode of Action
Tolfenpyrad is a METI (Mitochondrial Complex I Electron Transfer Inhibitor ‘Energy metabolism’) compound which acts through contact and ingestion
Inhibits the electron transport chain in the mitochondria of the cell, leading to the cessation of the production and supply of the energy in the cell, resulting in the death of the target pes
Salient Features
- Broad Spectrum activity against wide range of Sucking & Chewing pests
- Moderate ovicidal activity (Effective for all growing stages) and suppression of oviposition, lack of fecundity, ceases feeding & eventually death of insects
- Antifeedant action - Target pests stops feeding immediately after coming in contact
- Active on all developmental stages of insect i.e. eggs, larva/ nymphs & adults
- Different MOA plays an effective tool for IRM and by rotating with other products to prevent resistance development
Application Principles
- 1Shake well before use
- 2Applications should be made immediately after the spray solution is prepared
- 3Ensure thorough and uniform coverage
- 4For effective results, should be used at the initial stage of the crop and insect
- 5Rotate with insecticide of different mode of action to avoid resistance development
- 6Avoid spray if the rains are expected earlier than 6 hours
